PROGRAMME

The International Workshop on Culture, Fisheries, and Stock Enhancement of Portunid Crabs was held at Hotel del Rio, Iloilo City, Philippines on 20-22 January 2005. The workshop served as the end-of-project meeting for the Culture and Management of Scylla species (CAMS), a four-year collaboration of two European and two Southeast Asian partner institutions: University of Wales-Bangor in U.K., University of Gent in Belgium, SEAFDEC/AQD in the Philippines and Can Tho University in Vietnam. The project is supported by the European Commission (EC), INCO-DEV Programme. 

There were 57 participants from 11 countries. Project members and other invited participants working on crabs presented their research results on the following areas:

Biology
Broodstock
Larval Culture
Nursery
Grow-out
Fisheries and Stock Enhancement
Socio-economics
Genetics and Taxonomy
